FORM STATION: HISTORY & EVOLUTION

FORM STATION I — VLADIVOSTOK
April 4–11, 2021 · Vladivostok

The first edition of FORM STATION was held at NasMnogo Tattoo Studio in Vladivostok and brought together nine local tattoo artists.

The exhibition explored tattooing as a form of contemporary art through life-size mannequins, sculptural heads, hands and other anatomical forms transformed into independent artworks. Participating artists were given complete creative freedom, with no assigned theme or prescribed visual direction. The exhibition also included artist-led lectures, guided presentations, QR-linked process documentation and a collaborative mannequin object that visitors could draw and write on throughout the event.

FORM STATION I established the principles that would continue to shape the project: artistic independence, experimentation and the human form as a starting point rather than a limitation.
